About Me

georgia-portraitMy name is Georgia Butler, I’m an experienced professional therapist based in Woodbridge.
I am a registered Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with professional governing bodies UKCP and BACP, obtaining a BSc in Integrative Counselling in 2009. I  later became a qualified Supervisor (BACP), Life Coach and Bupa accredited therapist. With regard to my counselling practice, UKCP accounts for my work with individual adults and BACP accounts for Couple work and work with adolescents.

I have acquired over 3000 counselling hours over 14 years. My career began as a trainee counsellor at Norcas, a drugs and alcohol agency in Suffolk 2004 where I benefited from the specialist training given in addictions, solution focussed therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

In 2007 I began counselling at The Kernos Centre offering long term therapy to both adults and children. The Kernos Centre provided me with specialised training and experience in adolescent counselling, couple counselling, anxiety and depression,  trauma and abuse.

In 2010 I started my own Private Practice. I received regular referrals for individuals and couples from Surestart Children’s Centres across Suffolk. As my private practice expanded, it was with regret that I decided to leave The Kernos Centre. I am grateful to my colleagues and supervisors who supported me in my early years of counselling.

Currently (2018) I work full-time in Private Practice based at Woodbridge Complimentary Health Centre (www.wchc.info) offering counselling, supervision, life coaching, group work and workshops. My continuing professional development is currently supported amongst others, by Deep Release counselling and training who offer premium quality training north of London.
